May Film Night: Hail, Caesar! (2016)

Wednesday, May 3rd │7:00-9:00 pm

Complimentary

In the 1950s Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin) manages actors and movies for Capitol Pictures, which is producing a film called “Hail, Caesar,” set at the time of Jesus and starring Baird Whitlock (George Clooney). Baird is slipped a mickey, kidnapped and brought to a beach house where black-listed communist writers attempt to enlist him to their cause. But Eddie has other problems: mermaid DeeAnna (Scarlett Johansson) is pregnant; cowboy actor Hobie (Alden Ehrenreich) can’t do a reasonable British accent for director Laurence Laurentz (Ralph Fiennes); twin columnists played by Tilda Swinton hound Eddie for scoops; turns out that Burt (Channing Tatum), performing in a musical featuring dancing sailors singing about “no dames,” is a communist. Did you follow all this? Neither did I. So come to SAC Film Night and try to figure out how everything will turn out. And when you do, let me know!

Enjoy complimentary appetizers and wine during the film, as well as post-film discussion with film buff, Jim Clauss.

Sponsored by Reckless Video.

Big Climb Recap

Fitness director, Dana Lauren

Big Climb 31 is in the books!  We had 10 participants on our team this year, 6 alumni to the event and 4 newbies.  This event is like no other; it’s short but intense, very well ran and for a great cause.  For those of you that know me, know that I am a little competitive with myself.  This year I created a different experience, I walked the stairs and took my time to embrace it all.  I met a 67 year old man about half way up and we finished together. This was his third year participating in honor of his niece whom is a survivor to leukemia.  I love this event for there are stories and pictures everywhere for survivors and in memory of. There are more connections than there should be which is why this event is so important.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to our fundraising efforts and to everyone that participated in the stair climb.  I feel proud and lucky to be a part of such an awesome event.

Happy Hour at the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park!

Dana Lauren at dlauren@sacng.com

Fridays 6pm starting June 2nd

Cost: $45/month or $15 drop in

We all look forward to Friday night when we can finally unwind and kick back from a busy stressful week.  Sometimes though, those Friday night food and drink decisions can lead to a downward spiral of unhealthy decisions for the entire weekend. Vowing to ourselves, we will be “good” next weekend.  It can be hard choosing the fit life instead of a social life. Now the two can be combined in a group training session, outside!

We challenge you to try something different for your happy hour and get the weekend started off right. Let’s take advantage of the beautiful Seattle summer, set your weekend up for success and finish the week on a positive note.

Happy Hour workouts will be at the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park every Friday night at 6pm starting Friday, June 2nd.  Please contact Dana Lauren with any questions you may have or to sign up!
