**UPDATE Monday July 12th**

Dear Seattle Athletic Club Member,

On June 30th, Governor Inslee announced that Washington State has officially moved beyond the “Roadmap to Recovery” reopening plan and that the majority of State Mandated business restrictions have been removed.

Please rest assured that we will continue to be very mindful and deliberate as we move forward.  Our mindset is to gradually expand our access and availability whilst preserving the safest and most comfortable environment for our entire community.

With that said, we are excited to announce that beginning Monday, July 12th, the following series of updates will go into effect:

Room Reservations

  • Due to popular demand, we will continue to provide reservations for the majority of our workout spaces.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Members are encouraged to use workout spaces if they are not at their posted capacity limit. However, members with reservations will have priority.
  • We will be increasing our room capacity limits to:
    • Weight Room: 12 participants
    • Cardio Room: 10 participants
    • Gymnasium: 15 participants
    • Mind-Body Studio: 12 participants
    • Cycle Studio: 8 participants

(N.B. Staff are not included in the above capacity counts)

  • Please remember that reservations can be pre-booked via the Member Portal, Club App or at the Front Desk.

Spas

  • The Spas will be reopening on Monday, July 12th.
  • Fifteen (15) minute reservations are available on the Club App.
    • To make a reservation:
      • Search under “Reservations”
      • Select “Facility Schedule”
      • Choose your location
      • Search and select an available time.
    • Limited to one (1) person at a time.
  • As with other spaces, members can use the Spas without reservation if they are not occupied. However, members with reservations will have priority.

Squash Courts

  • Previously State Mandated “buffer times" in between court bookings will be eliminated increasing the amount of court times available.

Aquatics

  • We will be increasing our Lap Swimming capacities from four (4) to six (6) per time slot.
  • The two middle lap lanes (2 and 3) will be designated as shared lanes (2 swimmers), while the outside lanes (1 and 4), will remain one (1) swimmer per lane.
  • If sharing a lane, swimmers will be asked to take their "breaks" at opposite ends of the Pool.
  • Pool lanes are first come, first serve.
  • The number of participants in our Water Aerobics classes will be increasing to sixteen (16) per class.

Virtual Classes through Fitness on Demand.

  • Virtual programming reservations will no longer be required within our Mind-Body Studio. If there is no class scheduled, members can use the Fitness on Demand programming at their leisure.
  • Due to popular demand, we will continue to provide reservations for the Virtual System within our Cycle Studio.

We also want to express our gratitude to our entire membership for your adherence and support of our recently updated Face Mask policy. As a reminder, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a Face Mask if they provide proof of vaccination and wear a Club provided wristband while in the facility. Face Masks are still required for non-vaccinated individuals.

We could not be more grateful for the ongoing support that our community has provided to the Club as we continue to rebuild our Club and community. We are here to help in whatever capacity we are able and are excited to welcome you back into the Club.

Stay healthy and be well,
Seattle Athletic Club

**UPDATE Tuesday, June 29th**

Dear Seattle Athletic Club Member,

As you are aware, the Indoor Face Mask Directive from the Public Health Officer for Seattle and King County is set to expire on June 29th, when 70% of residents 16 years of age and older will officially be considered fully vaccinated.

Consequently, beginning Tuesday, June 29th, fully vaccinated Members will not be required to wear a Face Mask within the Club if they:

  1. Show proof of vaccination to our Front Desk staff in the form of a photo or actual vaccination card.

    • Please note, we will not keep or store this information, rather we will simply make a note on your Membership Account for future reference.

  2. Upon verification of status, Members will then be provided with a silicone bracelet to wear inside the Club at all times.

  3. If Members cannot provide proof of vaccination or do not wear their bracelet, they will be required to wear a Face Mask.

Non-vaccinated Members will still be required to wear a Face Mask at all times within the facility. In addition, all Seattle Athletic Club staff will also continue to wear Face Masks for the interim.

One of the wonderful things about our SAC community is that we respect and appreciate all of our individual differences. As we begin this transition, we ask that we all continue to be respectful and kind to others and their decision to continue to wear a Face Mask if they choose to do so.

We are also excited for the upcoming announcement from Governor Inslee on June 30th regarding his commitment to reopen the State. Once we have received the updated Fitness Facility guidance, we will look to expand our available services and facilities as soon as we are able. Please rest assured that we will still proceed with an abundance of caution as our number one goal remains to protect and enhance the health and wellbeing of our entire SAC community.

It has been a long arduous journey and we sincerely thank our entire SAC community for their commitment and compliance to all of our policies and procedures throughout this pandemic. There is light at the end of the tunnel and we appreciate the ongoing support as we enter this final stretch.

In health,
Seattle Athletic Club.
